Infants: 2 - 12 months
The infants section is an independent area, located on the ground floor of the nursery. Individual programs are set up for each child, and home routines are followed to keep consistency in their lives; opportunities are provided to cater to the overall development of the babies. Outdoor play, Storytime, music and movement, puppet shows, and sensory and exploratory play are encouraged to develop motor skills.
Toddlers: 12 - 24 months
In addition to focused activities, child–initiated play is encouraged. Children with their curious minds learn about themselves and their environment through a variety of topics and they develop language, and gross and fine motor skills enabling them to move about confidently. Through stories, singing, and conversation children expand their vocabulary, knowledge and confidence. Sensory play, in the form of sand or water for example, is on offer every day. The children also have the opportunity to take part in craft activities, such as painting or sticking, on a daily basis.
Nursery: 2 - 3 years
Independence, love for learning, and role-play are key at this age group. Children learn through role modeling and simulation, and opportunities are provided to help develop their social skills. Interactive music, puppet shows and sing-a-longs are used to help children develop positive attitudes and allow them to enjoy heir learning. We also focus on a child’s individual interests, keeping them interested, motivated and enthusiastic to learn and investigate further. Through messy play, music, cooking, and creative crafts are some of the fundamental activities used to enrich this stage.
Foundation Stage (FS1): 3 years +
The children are provided with opportunities to ensure emotional well being, help them know themselves and learn what they are capable of. Children are encouraged to discover their world, find out about their part in it and explore different cultures. Children are motivated and encouraged the to learn and build on their existing knowledge and skills. Independence and using appropriate behavior s highly encouraged. At this point we aim to prepare children for a smooth transition into ‘big school’ by focusing on important early reading, writing and math skills.
